Auctions for Salesforce Release Notes

VERSION 4.26

  • Not yet released.
  • Updated jQuery library to 3.5.1 for latest security review.
  • Enabled the Auctions application for mobile, so one can use Auctions on an iPad.  Note that Auctions still uses its original Visualforce pages, which now run reasonably on Safari on the iPad.
  • Enabled all of Auctions Visualforce pages to be “Available for Lightning Experience, Lightning Communities, and the mobile app”.  Testing has only been done on the Salesforce mobile app (iPad).  Unknown if Lightning Communities raises additional issues.
  • Changes to support Auction Deductible Amount on Auction Check Out page: One can add the field “Auction Deductible Amount” to the Opportunity field set “AuctionCheckOutFS”, and the total of the checked item’s deductible amount will display at the bottom of the table.
  • One can add the URL parameter {7} to the Auction Custom Setting “Credit Card Charge URL Formula” to have the total deductible amount of the included Opportunities passed to the payment processor.  Click & Pledge and iATS Brickwork may add support for this in the future, but no release set.

VERSION 4.24

  • Released on the AppExchange and push upgraded on 7/23/2019.

  • Fixes #129.  User’s who were using NPSP without the Household Account model were hitting a permissions error on the Assign Bid Numbers page and Auction Receipts page.

  • Released on the AppExchange 1/10/2019 and pushed upgraded on 1/28/2019.
  • Increased security and permission checks to comply with Salesforce security review practices.

  • enabled the Auctions Purchase wizard to handle auctions with over 2000 attendees. It now gives a warning that you should mark the non-attendees as ‘RSVP No’.
  • similarly, Auctions Purchase wizard gives a warning if you have over 2000 auction items.

VERSION 2.21

  • Released on 5/2/2011 on the AppExchange.
  • Auto Assign Bid Numbers now handles auctions with over 1000 attendees.

  • Now handles both older and newer versions of the Non Profit Starter Pack, by detecting whether to create Opportunity Contact Roles for auction related opportunities, by testing whether the contact role was automatically created after the opportunity was inserted.

VERSION 2.18

  • 2.18 is the next official release after 2.15!
  • released on 1/28/2011 on the AppExchange.
  • fixes to several pages to handle no auctionId passed in.
  • new logo!
  • new About Auctions tab
  • fix to Auction Receipts page to include Auction Item Purchases that are treated as gifts (ie., Raise your paddle)
  • resolved  issue 24 , by adding “Include ticket purchases” checkbox to Auction Receipts page.
  • resolved  issue 28 , by only displaying people with purchases (items, gifts, tickets) from the auction on the Auction Receipts page.
  • fixed  issue 23 , by always setting an amount on Opportunities and an Account on Contacts created in our test code.
  • resolved  issue 29 , how to deal with raffle tickets, in the user’s guide.
  • fixed  issue 25 , by providing new Custom Settings to replace the Custom Labels used by the Auction Receipts page. Now users are able to modify the text.
  • fixed New Auction Donated Item page to hide the Save button when the Auction Item section is being loaded.
  • tested to work under Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome.
  • Updated documentation, including both User Guide and Installation Guide.
  • Note: users who upgrade from a previous version to 2.18 will need to manually:
  1. Update the application logo to a new image in the package.
  2. Add the About Auctions tab to the Auctions Application.
  3. Please review the Installation Guide for full details.
  • Caution for those using Non Profit Starter Pack: In the Non Profit Starter Pack Households version 2.0 and later release, NPSP no longer looks at the system processor fields that Auctions tells users to set to avoid getting duplicate Opportunity Contact Roles. The current workaround is to set the Household Settings field “Household Contact Roles On” to unchecked. This issue is fixed in Auctions version 2.21.

VERSION 2.15

  • Released 11/12/2010 on the AppExchange.
  • Added Campaign custom field, Auction Campaign Type, which is now used instead of the standard Type field. Fixed up reports and code to use this new field. Had to do this, because Salesforce does not add picklist values to existing fields when a package is installed or upgraded.
  • Note: users who upgrade from a previous version to 2.15 will need to manually:
  1. Customize all of their Auction reports to filter on ‘Auction Campaign Type’ rather than ‘Type’
  2. Modify the page layout for Auction Campaigns, adding the field ‘Auction Campaign Type’ and removing the field ‘Type’
  3. Modify all of their auction campaigns to set ‘Auction Campaign Type’ to the correct value.
  • On the New Auction Donated Item page, I changed the label of Amount to Total Value, to make it clearer it was the total value of the donation, even if it was multiple items. I also rearranged the page layout to be a little more useful.
  • The code now queries for Record Types by Record Type Name (Developer Name) rather than Record Type Label (Name), in case the user has renamed the record types.
  • Fixed  issue 20 so that the Auction Purchases page also displays Gifts.
  • Fixed the Auction Purchases page, so it correctly names purchases that are gifts as Auction Gift, not Auction Purchased Item.
  • Updated documentation, including both User Guide and Installation Guide.

VERSION 2.14

  • Minor changes from Security Review to always run with user’s permissions.
  • Fix to Auction Receipts page to handle opportunities with no value specified.
  • Auction Receipts page now uses two custom labels the user can set to control the introductory and footer text of the report. The labels areAuction Receipt Intro and Auction Receipt Footer. In Salesforce, Custom Labels can be filled out by going to Setup, App Setup, Create, Custom Labels.
  • In the Auction Item Donation wizard, if you check the box to create the Auction Item, the Auction Item ID field is now included, so you can enter in a reasonable short ID, rather than getting the default Salesforce auto-generated string.
  • The default record type for Auction Items that are marked to be saved as a ‘gift’ has been changed from ‘gift’ to ‘GW Auction Purchased Item’. This change was made because the Non Profit Starter Pack has an option to automatically create Opportunity Contact Roles for members of a household. To avoid conflict with Auctions, one should disable this for all auction related Opportunity Record Types. One can still override what record type is used in this scenario by setting the Custom Settings for this.

VERSION 2.13

  • Initial released version from March 24, 2010
  • Full documentation of features and installation guide can be found on the Downloads tab.
